I remember adidas kick although it could have been a pair of Gola’s before that. Diadora Borg would have definitely been the best!
Funnily enough, I went past the old sport shop in Walthamstow where I purchased all these as a kid, and although the shop is long gone, the sign above it is still there advertising all the makes they sold. Halcyon days!

i fucking hate Adidas sambas - they look awful.
first pair of proper trainers was a pair of Reebok hexalite.
had a beautiful pair of the original air max - the ones that are grey/orange/black.
also had a pair of nike air hurrache and air 180s.
best ever though has to be the original reebok pumps.

My son got me a pair of Dolce and Gabbana black trainers 5 years ago but I started to split one as I have one foot one size bigger and pretty wide feet. My son went mental when I told him I wore them to the gym. Then I saw the retail price….fuck me !!!!! 500 quid
I had them repaired and if I wear to the gym it’s strictly no cardio.

best pair I had were in the mid 80sish. no idea of the name, tried finding them a few times with no joy. nike used to do plain white boots with a diadora style sole. again, no idea the name of them but they were perfect

Best pair - Not really sure what qualifies as ''best'' pair, and doubt I'd remember anyway. I have a pair of blue/gold stripe adidas milano's that are pretty smart.

Black Nike high top baseball boots with the Velcro fastning.
None of this casual football crap, this was essential footwear for the 80's Metal fan.
Worn with stretched black jeans and my Maiden top with Leather bike jacket, I looked mustard and not to dismaliar to a set of gold clubs..

Gazelles, Sambas etc are bloody uncomfortable !
It took me a few months to realise why my feet were always aching until someone told me to steer clear of flat trainers!

I bought a pair of Chuck Taylors pretty early, if you can consider those really trainers
The first ones I remember spending a lot of hard-earned part-time money on were Converse Weapons. My granddad verbally tore piece off me when I told him how much I paid.
Probably my best were Reebok Iverson Answer 3s in the late 90s

No idea on first, but best are probably the Adidas X PLR’s.
Been trying to find another pair in claret in my size, but they haven’t done them in that colour since 2016. Most comfortable trainers I’ve ever had
